T Rex

The pictures here were taken from a concert that T Rex gave at the Calgary Stampede Corral on Oct 23, 1974. The most notable event of the evening came when Marc Bolan (Sept 30, 47 - Oct 16, 77) was playing his signature song Bang a Gong. He was well into the song when it was very obvious that people did not recognize it because he had improvised it too far from the original. An exasperated Bolan stopped the band and yelled at the crowed "What's the matter don't you recognize Bang a Gong when you hear it?"
