I consider my photograhs of  Queen to be some of the most importand rock photographs of my career. My mother was an opera singer. We made a deal in which I was to go to an opera and she was to accompany me to a rock concert. I took her to Queen.

 

Queen played 2 concerts on March 16-17, 1977 in a small opera house in Calgary. In many respects it was perfect for Freddie Mercury whose voice could blend both rock and opera. In most cases Music Express might publish one or two shots from a concert. In this case, the publications publisher (Keith Sharp) said he couldn't decide what to use and what to leave out as the shots were so good. In the end he gave in and gave me a three page spread. Considering I was also attacked in front of the page and lost time to that the shots are pretty damn good.
